SKENAR Therapy

The SKENAR is a healing device which looks like a TV remote control. It was designed and produced by a team of Russian doctors and scientists for the benefit of their astronauts whilst on long missions, as they could not take drugs or medication whilst in space. It uses various frequencies, intensities and other settings depending on the condition being treated, for example whether it is chronic or acute.

What are the benefits?

SKENAR can be used to treat all musculo-skeltal injuries, as well as disorders affecting the various body systems such as digestive and genito-urinary disorders, and respiratory and circulatory problems.

How does it work?

SKENAR therapy works by encouraging the body’s own immune system to work more efficiently and stimulate the nervous system into promoting an accelerated healing response. It helps to remove ‘energy blocks’ which may be caused by various disease processes and or injuries. It is also able to diagnose which helps to detect the original location of a problem and therefore ensures the correct area for treating.   During a treatment the patient will feel a slight tingling sensation whilst the SKENAR is being moved across the skin.   It is safe, painless and non-invasive.   However it must not be used on anybody fitted with a pacemaker or other electronic implant. The number of sessions needed can vary, it depends on what condition is being treated, and how long the patient has had the condition: Usually it’s an average of 4 to 6 sessions.

What will happen on my first visit?

The session will begin with the practitioner taking a full lifestyle and medical history, followed by a detailed description of any presenting conditions that may need treating. Providing that there are no medical reasons that would prevent treatment the practitioner will then discuss with you, and formulate a specific treatment plan tailored to your needs. If during the consultation, it is deemed inappropriate for you to receive treatment, you will be advised of this and may be referred to an alternative practitioner of a more suitable technique, or in some cases back to your GP.

When the SKENAR device is applied to various parts of the body you will feel a mild electrical tingling sensation which can be adjusted according to your specific comfort levels. The treatment phase can be between 30 and 45 minutes long.
